SOUTHERN CAIRN TERRIER CLUB Open show Saturday 4th May 2013 I would like
to thank the Southern Cairn Terrier Club for inviting me to judge their open
show. The weather, although dry, was very testing to say the least with
extremely strong winds, especially in the morning, and this did effect my
ability to use the full ring to its best advantage for the dog classes
although it did improve after lunch. I would like to say a special thank you
to my two ring stewards, Sharon Confue and Jennie Fairweather for their help and support, it was a
mammoth task to stop everything that was not nailed down from blowing away! I was
delighted at such a large entry and thoroughly enjoyed my day but I was
surprised to find a number of level bites and an even larger number of dirty
teeth. I do feel presentation is extremely important and this includes clean
coats and teeth. Minor Puppy Dog 2 Entries 1st
Goldfinch’s Franfhaleal Itsallovernow At Kanawha Full coated red, very much a
baby at the moment. Good head, correct mouth, level top line, correct front
movement but a little close at the back at the moment 2nd
Brennan’s Cloverbrook I Mean Business At Milindack Dark brindle, just 6
months bigger type than 1 Dark eyes with good expression, correct mouth,
needs time for head to mature, confident show boy but lost his top line on
the move today Puppy Dog 1 Entry 1st
Felter’s & Ruman’s Landbuck Bytheway Wheaten brindle in good coat and
condition. Liked his overall size and balance. Nice head, good mouth with
large clean teeth, correct shoulders lovely straight front, level top line
moved with drive. He was unfortunate to be up against his sister for best
puppy. BPD Junior Dog 4 entries ( 2 Absent 0 1st
Shannon & Storr’s Brenndarcy Borgen Light Red, not a big boy but all
male, masculine head, correct mouth, enough neck with well placed shoulders,
level top line and correct tail set. Well presented he moved with drive and
could not be overlooked today. BD and RBIS 2nd
Shopland’s Hjohoo’s A Kind Hjo Can’t Find On Cherrycrack (Imp Swe ) Dark Red
Brindle lovely head with dark eyes and wicked expression just lacking head
furnishings to complete the picture, nice length of neck level top line and
good tail set. Showed well. Novice Dog 1 Entry ( Absent) Post Graduate Dog 2 Entries 1st
Lamb & Saltmarsh’s Birslaw Fable ShCM Dark brindle, masculine head, dark
eye, correct ear placement, moves and shows very well but proud of his tail
at times 2nd
Kitchin’s Tyreeces Tricks At Pennidazzle Dark red brindle typical head,
correct mouth coat of correct texture, would like more length of leg and
today it all seemed to be a bit of an effort for him Minor Limit
Dog 6 Entries ( 2 Absent ) 1st
Brennan’s Milindack What News Watson Cream with the best if heads, neat ears correct
mouth. Good reach of neck correct shoulders and front, sound mover both front
and back, excellent double coat, well handled RBD 2nd
Lamb & Saltmarsh’s Renshaw There And Back Again Brindle smaller type then
1st but very well balanced with lovely outline, good head and
expression he moved soundly and showed well 3rd

balanced dog with correct tail set, moved ok, a really good showman 2nd

level top line but low set tail. Correct front movement, a little close at

old, Beautiful head small neat ears, nice reach of neck with well placed
shoulders and correct front, good spring of rib level top line with correct
tail set. She moved with ease. Coat past its best but she could not be
overlooked. BV 2nd
Grainger’s Ch Devil In Disguise – Red dog 7 years old, Up to size shown in
super coat and excellent condition, well muscled, masculine head with correct mouth. Showed all out a
worthy champion 3rd

Years and Over ) 4 Entries 1st
Dolan’s Glenrood Magic Pipit -
Wheaten bitch, 14 ½ years old, beautiful feminine head with melting
expression, correct mouth and lovely big clean teeth, nice outline she moved
with ease around the ring holding her top line and never stopped showing, she
is a credit to her owner 2nd
Dolan’s Ch Glenrood Magic Solitaire JW – Dark Brindle bitch, 10 ½ years old
another lovely bitch with nice head, loved her size and outline. She moved
with drive and showed well, it was a close decision but I just fell for the
expression of the 1st 3rd
McIntyre’s Beanoak Snug In The Blanket Minor Puppy Bitch 4 Entries ( 1
Absent ) 1st
Osborn’s Tweslam Mystery Of Magic – Cream, very much a baby, nice head,
correct mouth, good reach of neck and level top line moved with drive and
showed well 2nd
Melly’s Cherrycrack Snowdrop – Another lovely pup, best of heads, correct
bite with large teeth, pleasing outline. Coat past its best at present and
not as assured as 1st but a close decision 3rd
Warburton’s Elmcairn Rosanna Puppy Bitch 2 Entries 1st
Felters & Ruman’s Landbuck Xanthe – Wheaten lovely type and size,
beautiful feminine head with wicked expression, good reach of neck flowing
into correct shoulders, level top line with correct tail set, she moved with
ease. Shown in full coat one to watch for the future. BP 2nd
Smee’s Malmay Sunshine Sally – Dark brindle with nice head, dark eyes correct
mouth, level top line which she holds on the move, needs to body up and
strengthen in back movement Junior Bitch 6 Entries ( 3 Absent ) 1st
Keeves Seveek Living The Dream – Well balanced red with good head, nice
length of neck correct shoulders and front, good spring of rib. Coat of
correct texture she moved with drive and showed well RBB 2nd
Keeves Seveek I Dreamed a Dream – Grey brindle liked her size and overall
balance, pretty head, good dark eyes, neat ears. Front movement ok but close
at back. Shown in good coat 3rd
Dronsfield’s Siabod Jose Novice Bitch 5 entries ( 1 Absent ) 1st
Peers Tweedisle Party Girl – Grey brindle with the best of heads, melting
expression she is so well put together she was a pleasure to go over and this
showed in her movement which was true both ways. Coat past it’s best today
which let her down in the challange 2nd
Burnett’s Kilnyard Good Heavens – Wheaten with dark points, nice head and
expression, level top line correct tail set, good front movement, preferred
overall balance and movement of 1st 3rd

OsbornsTweslam Thistle Be Magic – Eye catching red brindle good head and
expression, correct mouth with lovely big clean teeth, correct front and
shoulders, level top line which she held on the move, correct tail set. True
movement front and back, presented in top condition and showed well I liked
her a lot, shame she lost her concentration in the line up. 2nd
Burnett;s Kilnyard The Best of Luck – Wheaten with dark points, smaller more
compact bitch then 1st. Good head and ear set, moved well and very
showy 3rd

Absent ) 1st
Dolan’s Castleline Peggy Sue – Wheaten with the best of heads and
expressions. On the table my hands just flowed over her and she did not
disappoint on the floor. Good reach of neck, correct shoulders, level top
line a lovely balanced bitch who was on her toes and showed all out BB &
BIS 2nd
Peers Tweedsile Paper Moon – Dark Brindle typical head which would benefit
from more face furnishings, the best of fronts correct shoulders top line and
tail set, moved well 3rd
McIntyres Glenchess Chloe Open Bitch 7 Entries ( 4 Absent ) 1st
Osborn’s Tweslam Winter Magic – Dark brindle typical head, dark eye, correct
mouth, good front with well sprung ribs, level top line moved well, good show
