Lil Arrowsmith Has Died

L to R The late Roy Tester (steward), Lil (Judge), the late Judy Parker Tucker

with BIS Ch & Am Ch Uniquecottage Gold Grouse and the late Alf Arrowsmith (steward)

“ I am sorry to have to inform you all that Lil Arrowsmith passed away on 15 October.  Lil died following a relatively short illness although she had been in a nursing home for several years.  Those of you who remember Lil will know that Lil and late husband Alf showed Cairns         under the Thimswarra affix, their most famous Cairn was Ch Thimswarra Roulette and Alan and I also made up our first Champion, Ch Thimswarra Estelle in 1981.

Lil and Alf were great supporters of all the Cairn Clubs but particularly the Midland and I don't think they missed a Championship show or dinner until Alf became ill.     Both of them loved America and paid several visits there and made quite a few Cairn friends over the pond         but I think that Lil had lost touch with them somewhat in recent years.

I kept in touch with Lil, ringing her every few weeks and visiting her at Christmas and her birthday.  Alan and I visited only two days ago when we were told she was ill.  Lil never changed, she had the same mischievous laugh and enjoyed life to the end.       Lil leaves a son, Alan     and a daughter Maureen and I  send my condolences to them and their families.  Funeral arrangements will be posted here as soon as they are known."
