Margaret Mckinlay Has Died. Margaret Judging at Border Union 2010 We are sorry
to hear of the death of Margaret McKinlay (Dechmont). Jim Pollock has kindly provided some
history on Margaret which we will share with you. Margaret had been a member of the Cairn
Terrier Club for fifty years and Honorary Secretary of this club from 1976 to
1980. She had also been a member of other clubs and she had served on the
S.K.C. committee for several years. Margaret made up two Champions, Ch.
Dechmont Catriona, born in 1971 (Ch. Craiglyn Stornoway x Isla of Dechmont)
and Ch. Dechmont Christopher, born in 1981 (Ch Uniquecottage
Treecreeper x Dechmont Maud). Margaret had bred prize winning Corgis
for many years and Dalmatians with her second husband Robert Hamilton. Robert
sadly died some years ago. Margaret retired from the dog scene
eleven years ago to live near her daughter, Aileen, in Aberdeenshire. Being called upon to replace the scheduled
judge Margaret's last judging appointment was at Border Union Championship
show in 2010. The funeral was held on 22 July,
amongst the mourners were Jim and Noreen Pollock and Iain Shaw. It was simple funeral which was apparently
how Margaret wanted it. we send our condolences
to Margaret's family. |
