STATEMENT Certain of the Officers of
the Midland Cairn Terrier Club wish to clarify the situation about some
unfounded claims that have recently been made against them. The assertion is in connection with an alleged
benefit fraud case brought by the authorities against a Member of the Club. It is felt necessary to make
it clear to all Members that Club Officers were not in any way responsible
for initiating any action in respect of this case. The situation is that when
a Benefits Fraud Investigating Officer posed questions to Officers of the
Club they were of course bound to respond to these enquiries fully and
truthfully. That is what they did. To have refused to answer
questions in this truthful way would undoubtedly have resulted in further
action being taken to force the Club Officers to give evidence in the case. It is felt that in view of
other claims currently being circulated, it is only right that Members are
made fully aware of these full circumstances. |
