Breed Education
Co-ordinator We have received a communication
from the Kennel Club informing us that all breeds are required to appoint a
Breed Education Co-ordinator (BEC) by the 1st June 2018. At the
last Working Party Meeting we were unable to discuss this subject as no
information had been released by the Kennel Club. In view of the short period of time
we have to respond to this directive the plan is for anyone who is interested
in taking up this role to let the Working Party Secretary, Frances Goldfinch
know by the 17th March 2018. If several people express an interest
then the 6 Breed Clubs’ Committees will be asked to vote accordingly. We are also aware that several
breeds have appointed a Breed Education Co-ordinator who has the
responsibility for overseeing the scheme and liaising with the Kennel Club,
but have also formed a small group to undertake various aspects of the role. It is essential that we appoint
somebody within our breed, failure to do so could result in us being
allocated someone who has no knowledge of the Cairn Terrier. A full role description can be found under ‘Breed Education Co-ordinator
Role Description’ at www.thekennelclub.org.uk/JCF The Kennel
Club will be inviting all appointed Breed Education Co-ordinators to an event
on Sunday 15th July 2018 at the Kennel Club Building at Stoneleigh
Park, Warwickshire, where they intend to equip them with the necessary tools
to undertake the role and answer any questions. Further details will be
provided by the KC closer to the event. Frances Goldfinch |
