Monica Ball, owner of the Calamondin affix, has sadly passed away in the Queens Medical Centre  in Nottingham in the early hours of this morning, 29 July 2022.  Monica was 78 years old and had not been enjoying the best of health for a few years.

Over her lifetime Monica had owned a few Cairns and had been a familiar face around  the show ring.  Her latest Cairn, Ross, Lentrica Let’s Dance at Calamondin, won 2 CC’s.  He was her constant companion and she loved him deeply.

Monica enjoyed gardening and enjoyed visits to her local garden centre to admire the plants and have a coffee and a bite to eat.  She also enjoyed her annual visits to Builth Wells in her camper van, where she met up with friends.

Monica had 2 stints on the Midland Cairn Terrier Club committee. She helped the club enormously, taking on distribution of The Compendium of Cairn Terrier Records and latterly acting as Cup Steward.  She will be sadly missed at the Club’s annual Fun Day where she helped Brenda organise the fun classes.

Monica leaves no family but her close friends in the Cairn and Westie worlds and of course, her friend and neighbour Lynda will miss her greatly.
