"We have been
informed by Susan Kirsopp that sadly Margaret
Purvis, Wintrick Cairns, passed away on Friday 17th
June. She had been unwell for a long time. Margaret was a committee member of
the Cairn Terrier Club for quite a few years.
She also served as as President and latterly
as Hon Vice President. Margaret still kept up with the breed until she lost
her last dog. Margaret was a
respected judge both here and in Sweden and Norway. She also judged at Crufts
March 1999 and at the National Terrier Show. Margaret was also involved in local
shows both showing, judging and committee but she
also did a lot of time in the kitchen turning out lovely dishes for the
judges and exhibitors. Margaret was well
known in South East Northumberland where she ran training classes for many
years. Margaret bred 5 CC
winners including Ch Wintrick Winter Berry, who she
made up in 1988. Margaret judged
the Midland Cairn Terrier Club's Championship Show in December 1990 where she
made Yvonne Catto's Ch Birselaw Boomerang Best in Show. Funeral details are
yet to be confirmed but it will probably be at Blyth Crematorium on July
