2009 Year Book
It is time for you to start thinking of the “gold book” as the MCTC Year Book is affectionately known! I know that a lot of you have already had some lovely photographs taken for this publication but if you haven’t now is the time to do something about it. The Midland Year Book is highly thought of and it is because of you, the members. It is because of your photographs, adverts and articles and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who regularly send contributions and adverts. Long may this continue!! I must also thank Higham Press who has for a long time produced a high quality book.
If you need any help in deciding what photos to send then please contact me and I will offer whatever advice I can. Generally the bigger the photo the better, if you require the photo cropping then please do not mark the photo but place around it another sheet of paper indicating the area you would like printing. Black and white photos, as opposed to colour, are better for black and white photos. Please send details of text in clear print. Colour photos are again available. Photos taken on a digital camera are acceptable; they should be sent to me on CD and must be at least 1600 pixels by 1200 pixels or better using normal compression (i.e. the least compression). The file size will be approximately 850k at these settings and should be in JPEG format. Scanned photos must be saved in PC Format as a TIFF image at 300dpi resolution. This only applies to SLR photographs that have been changed in Photoshop or scanned.
We are also pleased to offer full page adverts in PDF, a colour is £85, black & white £45 but there is no extra charge for additional photos. Please ensure that your advert measures no more than 17cm wide x 25 cm high.
If you have made up a champion this year or one of your dogs has been awarded a C.C. – congratulations. For champions I shall need a photograph and a 3 generation pedigree together with details of Line and Family Number, date of birth and breeder. For C.C. winners I shall need the same apart from the photo.
If anyone has any interesting articles or details of any interesting web sites, please send these to me. I cannot promise to publish all articles received, however.
If you have changed any address or telephone number or your details are incorrect in the last Year Book, please let me know.
The closing date is 31 December 2008 but if you can send things earlier it makes it easier for me. Please send cheques with adverts to me at the above address.
Prices of adverts are;
Full page, Black & White (one photo) £45 Half page (one photo) £35
Full page, Colour (one photo) £85 Half page (one photo) £65
Extra black & white photographs will cost an additional £5 per photograph. Extra colour photos cost £15. Extra charges will be necessary for special text requirements. Please ask me for details.
I hope to see some adverts from our overseas members; this makes our Year Book even more interesting. Would overseas members please send pounds sterling travellers cheques or pounds sterling international money order. I regret that no foreign cheques can be accepted. Overseas members can however use our Paypal service. Overseas members may also pay their 2009 subscriptions at the same time. (£16 Single or Joint). Please note that there is a small administration charge for this service.
